Cash Application Specialist – Entry Level

About the role

The Cash Application Specialist supports the finance team by processing customer payments, reconciling accounts, and handling exceptions across multiple ERP platforms. This full‑time, onsite position in Victor, NY requires strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Key responsibilities

• Cash posting: accurately apply customer payments to accounts in ERP systems, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
• Exception handling: investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and discrepancies promptly.
• Reconciliation & month‑end close: assist with reconciliations, reporting activities, and meet established deadlines.
• Customer service: respond to internal inquiries regarding payment status and application issues.
• Process improvement: identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve efficiency.
• Other duties: perform additional tasks as assigned by the Cash Application Supervisor.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent experience (preferred).
• 0‑2 years of accounts receivable or cash application experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Effective communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced Global Business Services environment.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• ERP systems – Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
