Case Manager – Childcare Support Services

About the role

The Case Manager will help homeless families secure affordable, high‑quality childcare for children ages 0‑5, enabling parents to pursue employment, education, or training. This full‑time position works primarily during standard business hours at the Compass Family Services office.

Key responsibilities

• Screen families for eligibility and match them with suitable subsidized childcare options.
• Assist families with enrollment, addressing barriers such as transportation, language access, and documentation.
• Conduct regular check‑ins with families placed in care to ensure child well‑being and resolve any issues.
• Facilitate communication between families and childcare providers and help set employment or educational goals.

Required profile

• Understanding of challenges faced by homeless and low‑income families.
• Experience in crisis situations with ability to de‑escalate quickly.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese preferred.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience using Salesforce (a plus).

What we offer

• Hourly wage $27‑$31 (USD) for a 37.5‑hour week.
• 4 weeks paid vacation in year 1, 5 weeks in year 2, plus holidays, sick time and family leave.
