Carpenter Journeyman

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Carpenter Journeyman to join its team in Springfield, VA. The Carpenter II performs carpentry duties needed to keep building structures and finishes in good repair. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Repair or install new walls, partitions, floor tiles, ceiling tiles and system furniture.
• Drywall patching, painting, and adjusting and installing door hardware.
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models or verbal instructions, using hand tools, portable power tools and measuring instruments, and make standard shop computations on dimensions.
• Select materials needed for the work and perform other duties associated with the position.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level sufficient for the job.
• At least 15 years of carpentry experience.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• U.S. citizen who can obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Required skills

• Carpentry, including wall and partition repair, drywall patching and door hardware installation.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
