Caregiver (CNA/HCA) – All Shifts

About the role

Journey Nursing Services is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Care Aides (HCA) to provide hands‑on patient care in homes, facilities, or adult family homes across Bellingham and surrounding areas. Positions are available for short and long shifts with potential growth into full‑time roles.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized care to patients, respecting their dignity, rights, and individuality.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
• Perform delegated tasks including vital signs, weight checks, and applying prescribed creams or ointments.
• Promote skin integrity by repositioning, turning, and providing appropriate skin care.
• Follow safety and infection‑control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CNA or HCA license for Washington State (training can be provided on‑site).
• Good standing with Washington DSHS Background Check System.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Reliable transportation and, if providing client transport, a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Required skills

• Competence in performing ADL assistance and basic patient care tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb using proper body mechanics.
• Understanding of safety and infection‑control procedures.
