Career Start GP – One‑Year Posts in Aberdeen & Elgin

About the role

This Career Start programme offers newly qualified General Practitioners a one‑year contract to work in primary care across Aberdeen or Elgin. You will gain experience in a range of specialties while contributing to out‑of‑hours (OOH) service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality patient care in a GP practice.
• Develop a special interest by rotating through listed specialties such as Palliative Care, ED, CAMHS, Diabetes, Orthopaedics, and more.
• Participate in OOH service provision and community health initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital‑linked services.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) and full GMC registration.
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, counselling and feedback abilities.
• Willingness to work part‑time or full‑time and to be allocated to a practice in Aberdeen or Elgin.
• Need for visa sponsorship, if applicable.
