About the role

The Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (CW) provides critical support to cardiothoracic surgeons, acting as the first assist in the operating room and managing patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the cardiothoracic surgeon during cardiac surgery procedures as the primary first assist.
• Respond to pages and provide on‑call coverage as required.
• Perform patient assessments, diagnose and treat actual and potential problems related to cardiothoracic conditions.
• Manage ongoing clinical care of cardiothoracic surgery patients, including postoperative follow‑up.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in cardiothoracic surgery patient management.
• Ability to perform high‑level clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.
• Must be fully vaccinated against Covid‑19 or hold an approved exemption.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
