Capex Controller – Project Finance

About the role

As a Capex Controller at APM Terminals, you will manage the financial governance of high‑impact infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and compliance with finance policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accounting, cash‑flow planning and reporting for capital investment projects.
• Develop and manage project cash‑flow forecasts using inputs from project teams and contract terms.
• Track actual project investment against budget, providing timely financial insights.
• Ensure compliance with APM Terminals finance policies, CFO guidelines and shareholder reporting requirements.
• Review capitalization of fixed assets, accruals, supplier invoices and payment schedules.
• Support change management by evaluating financial impact of scope or budget changes and preparing business cases.
• Contribute to risk management by identifying, quantifying and tracking project‑related financial risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably in project implementation or capital investment environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards with experience in capitalization and project accounting.
• Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, identify deviations and provide fact‑based recommendations.
• Effective communicator who can collaborate with cross‑functional teams and engage senior stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion.
