CAD Operator - Telecommunications Infrastructure

About the role

CACI is hiring a full-time CAD Operator in High Point, NC, within its Engineering and Technical Support category. The role focuses on producing detailed CAD drawings for telecommunication installation projects, including inside and outside plant infrastructure. Candidates work long hours to meet deadlines and must be able to understand complex calculations and drawing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret project briefs and meet with clients, engineers and technicians so that technical drawings are completed to specification.
• Produce rough sketches and use CAD software to prepare detailed drawings, plans and prints.
• Visit sites to gather information and update software, drawings and other documents.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and maintain the CAD drawing library.
• Communicate potential design issues to engineers and technicians and conduct research when required.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in drafting or a related discipline, with 1-3 years of related experience, or a combination of skills, education and experience.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work overtime when required.
• Desired: BA/BS degree in engineering, civil or mechanical engineering or a related discipline, and experience with Autodesk Vault and Microsoft SharePoint.

Required skills

• Practical experience with AutoCAD software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Visio, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Desired: working knowledge of USAISEC Drafting guidelines.
