Buyer – Procurement & Merchandising for Online Farmers Market

About the role

The Buyer ensures Farm to People has the right products, suppliers, and inventory to deliver fresh, high‑quality food to customers. Working closely with vendors and internal teams, the role blends procurement, merchandising, and inventory management to keep the online grocery assortment accurate and appealing.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders based on forecasts, seasonal needs, and vendor lead times.
• Own the purchasing calendar, ensuring timely pricing updates and product launches.
• Monitor inventory levels, align purchasing with demand, and minimize stockouts.
• Track open orders, resolve delays, shortages, or substitutions.
• Maintain accurate pricing and cost records, validate margins, and report performance.
• Collaborate on weekly farm box planning, sourcing, and ordering.
• Communicate proactively with vendors and internal teams about risks and solutions.
• Partner with Operations to uphold product quality, sustainability, and compliance standards.
• Negotiate costs, terms, and promotional support with vendors.
• Analyze sales, margin, spoilage, and supplier performance to guide future campaigns.

Required profile
