Buyer – Procurement for Fire Protection Systems

About the role

The Buyer is responsible for pricing, quoting, and purchasing materials needed for fire protection system installations that are not produced in‑house. This role balances cost, quality, and delivery to meet company standards and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive quote requests from Customer Service Representatives and analyze them.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to secure competitive cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Track weekly order and quote totals, follow up on vendor orders, and manage stock order quantities.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by removing C‑items, obtaining RMAs, and monitoring backorder reports.
• Promote a safe workplace by adhering to safety procedures and reporting hazards.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding customer service and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• High school diploma with 2+ years experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or related field.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with DRP, Elite, and Dynamics 365.
