About the role
As a Buyer II at Applied Materials, you will support our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities by procuring materials, supplies, machinery, and services. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure a reliable flow of components that enable fast, high‑quality production of semiconductor and display chips.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain supply continuity to meet manufacturing speed and quality targets.
- Track orders, verify deliveries, approve payments, and keep accurate purchasing records.
- Drive timely shipment and resolve billing or receiving issues with suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers on demand‑supply planning and execute pull‑ins/push‑outs to satisfy MRP demand.
- Lead inventory and excess‑and‑obsolete (E&Z) reduction initiatives.
- Negotiate purchase orders and RFQs to achieve lowest cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
- Resolve supply problems with engineering, manufacturing, and program managers, supported by management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1‑2 years of related purchasing or supply‑chain experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for explaining complex information.
- Understanding of key industry business drivers is a plus.
