Business Services Consultant

About the role

Career Team is seeking a Business Services Consultant to provide expert consulting to local businesses, helping them navigate workforce solutions, hiring and retention strategies. This temporary position runs through 31 December 2026 and reports to the Business Services Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with local businesses and organizations to develop job orders, employment arrangements, and work‑based learning opportunities.
• Plan and execute recruiting and hiring events for employers across industries using both in‑person and virtual platforms.
• Collaborate with community and business partners to organize recruiting events and deliver presentations on employment opportunities and labor‑market information.
• Negotiate and develop agreements for on‑the‑job training, subsidized work experience, transitional jobs, and other programs.
• Interact with employers to create job orders, fill vacancies, and respond to business needs through available resources.
• Conduct employer follow‑up to assess service quality and referral volume.
• Work with center managers and program staff to match job seekers with work‑based learning opportunities and internships.
• Provide career planning and advisement services to support job placement, advancement, and retention.
• Track program participants, report on job placements, and develop new employer partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience building relationships with employers and coordinating recruitment events.
• Ability to negotiate agreements and manage multiple stakeholder needs.
