Business Operations Manager / Senior Manager (German or French Speaking)

About the role

Whatnot is looking for a Business Operations Manager or Senior Manager who can speak German or French to help scale its international marketplaces. You will work directly with the leadership team, partnering across product, engineering, finance and marketing to drive growth in the UK, France, Germany and Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large, cross‑functional initiatives that unlock growth and improve operational efficiency.
• Partner with product and engineering to embed international requirements into scalable solutions.
• Conduct primary research to identify high‑impact opportunities across product, pricing, incentives and marketing.
• Own and track key metrics for buyer and seller funnels, growth, marketing spend and margin dynamics in each market.
• Bring rigor to marketing capital allocation, channel decisions and hiring road‑maps.
• Analyze margin levers, pricing strategies and growth investments to inform leadership decisions.
• Build tooling that serves as a single source of truth for progress, resource allocation and blockers.
• Pressure‑test new products and capabilities with a focus on user impact.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in business operations, strategy or similar roles within fast‑growing tech or e‑commerce companies.
• Proven track record of scaling international markets and managing complex, unstructured problems.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in data‑driven decision making.
• Fluency in English and either German or French.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions.
