Business Development Manager (AI & Game Tech)

About the role

Tencent's LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS is looking for a Business Development Manager to anchor its organization at the intersection of AI innovation and the gaming ecosystem. The role acts as the "eyes and ears" in North America, focusing on Generative AI and user-generated content (UGC) platforms to drive growth, turning technical trends into strategic intelligence and bridging talent with internal product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate emerging Generative AI and UGC technologies and partners, assessing their impact on game production and player experience
• Monitor and analyze North American gaming market shifts and technology trends, delivering timely intelligence to senior leadership and studio heads
• Sourcing and engaging top-tier video-game talent and high-potential startups and projects in North America, building a pipeline of innovation for potential investment or collaboration
• Build a network of subject-matter experts and co-development or outsourcing partners to speed up internal project timelines

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in tech business development, with a track record of spotting industry-shifting trends early
• Currently based in the California Bay Area with an active network of developers, AI researchers and startup founders
• Exceptional analytical output and negotiation skills in Mandarin and English, able to turn complex technical ideas into clear business cases

Required skills

• Deep, demonstrable interest in game-related technology
• High proficiency in AI applications (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of UGC ecosystems such as Roblox, Minecraft and UEFN is a major advantage

What we offer

• Base pay of $124,000 to $233,600 per year, depending on knowledge, skills and experience
