Building Engineer

About the role

Greystar seeks a Building Engineer to maintain the physical aspects of the 55 Hudson property, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and performing repairs per policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and tools, track usage, and reorder as needed.
• Assist with grounds upkeep, pressure‑washing, trash removal, and minor painting tasks.

Required profile

• Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance).
• Willingness to be on‑call evenings, weekends, and holidays and to travel occasionally to other properties.
• Valid driver’s license; Black Seal License preferred.

Required skills

• EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal refrigerant recycling certification.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Experience with mechanical and technical building systems.
