Build & Release (CI/CD) Support Engineer

About the role

Virtasant, a global technology services company, is hiring a Build & Release (CI/CD) Support Engineer to provide high-impact technical support for a customer's build, release and CI/CD systems. The role is remote, based in the Pacific time zone (8AM-5PM), and is deeply developer-facing, covering build pipelines, software supply chain workflows and release tooling such as Maven, Docker, Spinnaker, Artifactory and Jenkins.

Key responsibilities

• Manage roughly half of interactions via Slack threads and half via tickets, triaging build failures, broken pipelines, dependency and configuration issues, and providing fast context before escalation
• Diagnose complex build, packaging and artifact problems independently, including Maven, Java, Docker, Artifactory, Jenkins and Spinnaker issues
• Complete thorough investigations before escalating, gathering logs, reproduction steps and build metadata
• Maintain FAQs, internal documentation and one-pagers, and document newly solved problems

Required profile

• 2-5 years in Build/Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE or software development
• Strong troubleshooting and clear written and spoken communication
• Solid Linux/Unix experience, with build tools, containers and artifact management
• Nice to have: monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana), prior SRE experience
