BRFSS Epidemiologist 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health seeks a BRFSS Epidemiologist to analyze and translate Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System data, track chronic disease prevalence, and support public health initiatives across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze BRFSS and related health data using R, SAS, and SUDAAN.
• Produce reports, infographics, maps, and data summaries for programs.
• Respond to internal and external data requests and maintain the Georgia BRFSS dashboard.
• Participate in CDC BRFSS calls and meetings, and design BRFSS‑related studies.
• Assist in preparing the annual progress report and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health or related field and at least 2 years of epidemiology experience.
• Three years of epidemiologic work experience or two years at a lower‑level epidemiologist position.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse partners across the state.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical software: SAS, R, SUDAAN.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as ArcGIS and Tableau.
