Boiler Room Operator – Various Shifts

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Boiler Room Operator to work various shifts monitoring and maintaining oil and gas‑fired steam generating boilers and associated equipment. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient operation of boiler systems and supporting plant reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and perform day‑to‑day maintenance on boilers, air compressors, hydraulic pumps, feed pumps, and related controls.
• Monitor boiler performance, record daily readings, adjust equipment, and report any irregularities to the Chief Engineer.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair valves, gauges, piping, and auxiliary equipment.
• Conduct routine cleaning, painting, and organized tasks as requested.
• Inspect and adjust the wastewater system and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 1‑3 years of boiler operation experience.
• Massachusetts Second Class Fireman's License.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with good interpersonal skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform shop mathematics.
• Good judgment for planning and executing maintenance tasks.
