Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist - Level II

About the role

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a skilled Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist (Level II) to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of medical equipment used by the VA in Houston. The role combines hands‑on maintenance, security coordination, and integration support to uphold high standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on a wide variety of medical devices.
• Diagnose and execute corrective repairs following manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect incoming equipment for safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to enforce medical device security protocols.
• Install, calibrate, and configure new equipment according to safety standards.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and address any hazards.
• Manage hazard recalls, software repairs, and support Cerner system integration.
