About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Clinical Engineering department is seeking a full‑time Biomedical Technician 2 to join its team in Miami, FL. The technician will perform routine installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of biomedical equipment while supporting patient‑safety programs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair biomedical devices with minimal supervision.
• Oversee recall and safety‑alert programs, conduct hazard investigations, and ensure compliance with safety goals.
• Prioritize workload, complete assignments promptly, and maintain accurate equipment documentation.
• Order parts and supplies, inspect incoming equipment for code and manufacturer compliance, and supervise outside vendors.
• Provide cross‑training to less‑experienced technicians and update the technical library as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience, certification, or license.
• Minimum two years of experience in biomedical equipment service or a related field.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
