Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Systems

About the role

Blue Water Thinking is looking for a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician with a focus on information systems to join its on‑site team in Iowa City. You will ensure that networked medical devices operate safely, reliably, and securely, supporting high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of networked medical equipment.
• Diagnose and execute corrective maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect incoming devices for safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement device security protocols.
• Install, calibrate, configure, and verify equipment performance.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and manage hazard or safety recalls.
• Repair software issues and support Cerner integration.
