Bilingual Teaching Assistant (English/French)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Teaching Assistant to support classroom instruction and enrich the learning experience for students. This full‑time position works closely with the lead teacher to deliver engaging, bilingual education in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in delivering instructional support to individual and small groups of students.
• Reinforce lessons, provide clear explanations, and answer student questions in both English and French.
• Offer constructive feedback that promotes student learning and self‑assessment.
• Model respectful communication, active listening, and positive classroom behavior.
• Help supervise students and maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Facilitate classroom routines, encouraging student participation in daily tasks.
• Gather evidence of student understanding to inform instruction and remediation.
• Assist with documentation of student progress and preparation of teaching materials.
• Participate in professional development and school activities that advance the school’s mission.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with children in a school or related educational setting.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
