Bilingual (Spanish/English) Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is looking for a bilingual (Spanish/English) Pharmacy Technician to support its mental health pharmacy in Detroit. The role covers dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm EST, with lunch from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and clinic staff
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under the registered pharmacist's supervision
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies; receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data to maintain inventory records
• Work with the pharmacist to keep the pharmacy compliant with federal and state requirements
• Perform departmental clerical duties and communicate professionally in spoken and written Spanish and English

Required profile

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Michigan
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Access to reliable transportation
• Preferred: pharmacy and prescription data entry experience and National Pharmacy Technician Certification
