BI Engineer

About the role

As a BI Engineer you will help solve meaningful problems by turning data into actionable insights for a mission‑driven organization. Working closely with business and technology partners, you will design, build, and maintain self‑service reporting assets that empower analysts across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design and development of cross‑functional dashboards and semantic models using Tableau, Power BI, and/or Cube.dev.
• Collaborate independently with stakeholders and engineers to define BI solutions that meet user requirements and architectural standards.
• Apply advanced UX, visual design, and performance‑tuning techniques to ensure high‑quality, responsive reporting.
• Lead enablement efforts, mentoring data analysts and establishing best‑practice standards.
• Connect metrics, data sources, and reporting assets across domains to support strategic scaling.

Required skills

• 4+ years of BI development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Tableau and/or Power BI (design, deployment, performance optimization).
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Understanding of data visualization best practices and data architecture/modeling concepts.
• Experience mentoring analysts and defining reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Bonus: experience with dbt, CI/CD pipelines, Cube.dev.
