About the role
The Beverage Manager oversees all beverage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships across the resort. This role ensures every outlet is properly stocked, beverage costs are well managed, and quality and compliance standards are consistently upheld.
Key responsibilities
- Manage beverage purchasing (alcoholic and non‑alcoholic) for all outlets, ensuring accurate and timely orders.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
- Oversee inventory levels, conduct regular counts and audits, and implement controls to minimize waste and shrinkage.
- Monitor beverage cost percentages and budgets, identify savings opportunities, and report variances.
- Collaborate with outlet leads to develop and refresh beverage menus, seasonal offerings, and signature cocktails.
- Ensure compliance with state and local alcohol laws, licensing requirements, and resort policies.
- Train and support bar staff on standards, product knowledge, and ordering procedures.
- Conduct quality checks to guarantee beverages are prepared to established recipes.
- Partner with managers to plan promotions, specials, and events that drive sales.
- Track and report on sales, costs, and inventory trends, providing data‑driven recommendations.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of beverage management, purchasing, or bar management experience.
- Prior resort, hotel, or multi‑outlet hospitality experience.
- Strong leadership and ability to train and hold staff accountable.
- Knowledge of HACCP and local food safety standards.
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred.
- Current Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service certifications (or ability to obtain).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and adapt to fast‑paced projects.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb and work in all weather conditions.
