Battery Production Engineer

About the role

Toyota is seeking a motivated Production Engineer to support the launch of North America’s first prismatic lithium‑ion battery cell and module production line. The role will be based at the Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) facility and will report to the Engineering Manager of the Battery Implementation Team.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment across construction and manufacturing areas.
• Collaborate with engineers, construction managers, technicians, vendors, and contractors to meet project milestones.
• Participate in cost planning, budgeting, equipment specification, procurement, validation, installation, and pre‑production trials.
• Create and maintain detailed schedules and budgets for assigned project areas.
• Identify punch‑list items, conduct root‑cause analysis, and manage corrective actions.
• Support clean‑room protocols and equipment installations required for battery manufacturing.
• Travel up to 25% of the time and work occasional weekend or shutdown shifts as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 1 year of experience in production preparation, capital‑project execution, or related co‑op experience.
• Exposure to battery manufacturing processes and clean‑room environments.
• Experience creating and managing detailed project schedules and budgets.
• Willingness to work onsite in North Carolina and travel as required.
