Battery Assembly & Test Technician (Day Shift, AWS)

About the role

Amprius Technologies, a manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries with a silicon anode and cell production facility in Fremont, California, is hiring a Battery Assembly Technician for a 6-month temporary position. The technician produces the company's proprietary silicon anode Li-Ion cells using equipment and hand tools, reports to the Battery Assembly Supervisor and works on-site in Fremont.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble battery components according to specifications and test completed batteries against quality and performance standards.
• Inspect materials and components with tools such as a micrometer, mass scale, digital multimeter and clipper.
• Record production data and report issues to the supervisor or manager.
• Collaborate with the team to meet daily production targets and operate and maintain assembly line equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor technical issues with assembly equipment and keep the workspace clean and organized.
• Follow company safety protocols and wear PPE such as a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• One year of experience as an equipment operator or technician in semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics or automotive.
• Reliable, team-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to follow safety policies.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds; standing, sitting, bending and kneeling may be required.
• Reliable commute or plan to relocate before starting; on-site work in Fremont.

Required skills

• Experience with or willingness to learn hand tools such as die punch, rotary tool and cutters.
• Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and basic understanding of assembly line processes.
• Basic computer skills for accurate data entry.

What we offer

• Pay of $22.00-$26.00 per hour depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
• Alternate workweek schedule (AWS): 3 days of 12 hours, then 4 days of 12 hours every other week, 5:30 am to 6:00 pm.
