About the role

The YMCA of Greater Boston seeks a part‑time Basketball Referee to enforce league rules and ensure a safe, positive experience for players and spectators.

Key responsibilities

Officiate 2‑4 games per assigned night, arriving 15 minutes early.
Manage score sheets, stat sheets, and the scoreboard as needed.
Assist with gym set‑up before games and clean‑up afterward.
Resolve conflicts professionally and follow detailed instructions from the league coordinator.

Required profile

Minimum age of 21 years.
High School Diploma or GED.
IAABO Certified Basketball official with at least 2 years experience (proof required).
Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days and maintain them.

Required skills

Knowledge of Massachusetts High School Basketball rules.
Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict tactfully.
