About the role

Visitation Hotel Frederick, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Frederick, Maryland, is hiring a barista. The role provides quality barista services in line with guest service and sustainability standards, with a growth path to Head Barista, then Host or Hostess and Guest Service Agent. The schedule varies and may include holidays and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Take coffee, beverage and food orders, enter them into the POS system, collect payment and prepare orders
• Bus coffee cart areas and tables, clean dishes, utensils, work areas, tables and equipment throughout the day
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and turning appliances on and off at the right times
• Stock and maintain work areas
• Obtain change for expected business volume, count the bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts and secure the bank
• Follow state, federal and corporate food and alcohol requirements, company safety and security policies, and the EarthView sustainability program
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager, complete safety training and certifications, and perform other duties requested by management

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Customer service experience preferred
• Barista experience is a plus
• Able to stand for long periods, walk, push, lift up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch
