Banquet/Buffet Cook

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cook to support a Facilities O&M Services Contract. The Cook provides day-to-day support in the culinary areas of operations, serving banquet and buffet-style meals. The culinary facilities operate from 05:00 to 19:00, five to seven days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with environmental health, safety, quality assurance and site policy requirements, including the 2009 FDA Food Code
• Follow the Executive Chef's detailed instructions and prepare and follow the weekly menu recipes
• Prepare, assemble, cook and serve ingredients, and collaborate with the Executive Chef and other cooks during dining hours
• Provide daily feedback to the Executive Chef and stock, rotate and maintain accurate food inventories
• Store food at the right temperatures and clean and restock dining and kitchen areas before the next shift
• Occasionally set up and serve breakfasts, brunches and evening dinners in non-typical dining areas, and work outdoors in hot, humid weather
• Work with the O&M supervisor on equipment and facility failures

Required profile

• TS/SCI clearance and H.S. diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of cook experience in the restaurant industry with banquet/buffet-style cooking
• Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain and maintain it
• Valid driver's license from the applicant's home state
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, stand 8-10 hours a day, and work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Reading and executing standardized recipes and strong food handling knowledge
• Teamwork in a busy kitchen and computer literacy for online training, timekeeping and email
