Banquet Server

About the role

Legends Global is hiring a Banquet Server for events at the Shreveport Convention Center. The role reports to the Food & Beverage Manager and covers table setting, service and clean-up during events. It is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the event instructions given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
• Help collect banquet equipment such as flatware, china, glassware and serving pieces.
• Help prepare garnishes, beverages, condiments and bread, and clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes and creamers.
• Help prepare and set up the event room and set tables with place settings as instructed.
• Attend the pre-function meeting for a briefing on event details.
• Provide friendly, courteous service, stay at your assigned station and report customer concerns to the Banquet Captain.
• Break down tables and equipment after each event, clean and return serving pieces to storage, and follow grooming standards and service procedures.

Required profile

• At least six months of work experience in a service-oriented environment.
• Ability to perform the duties with energy and enthusiasm.

Required skills

• Knowledge of catering services and terminology.
• Strong guest service skills.
• Good teamwork and the ability to follow instructions promptly.

Pay is $12.00 per hour.
