Backend Software Engineer

About the role

EnsoData is looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to own and evolve the core backend infrastructure that powers our AI‑driven healthcare platform. You will work on the API and data processing pipelines that support the EnsoSleep application, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Architect and scale backend solutions while adhering to SaMD standards (FDA, HIPAA, ISO 13485).
• Build and maintain interoperability interfaces with partner systems.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement reliable technical solutions for customers.
• Write automated tests, perform code reviews, and produce technical documentation.
• Collaborate with regulatory and quality teams to integrate compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably in a fast‑growing startup.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Required skills

• Python (preferred), Go, Java
• Building and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs and microservices
• Data modeling and relational database design
