Backend Software Engineer I

About the role
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer I to join Pinterest’s Monetization engineering team. In this role you will help build the backend services that power new Pinner‑facing features, working closely with product, design, data science and other engineering teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and operate large‑scale, distributed backend systems that serve millions of users.
- Build end‑to‑end functionality for new product ideas, from rapid prototyping and A/B testing to production release.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and data scientists to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Write automated tests and ensure high technical quality of the components you own.
- Improve developer tooling and processes across the code‑to‑operation lifecycle.
Required profile
- Inquisitive, well‑rounded engineer who enjoys solving thought‑provoking problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical approaches clearly.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment and taking ownership of features from inception to release.
