Backend Software Engineer – Agentic AI

About the role

Siftstack is building the next generation of data infrastructure for hardware engineering teams. As a Backend Software Engineer focused on Agentic AI, you will create and own AI‑driven tools that help engineers review massive telemetry streams quickly and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with customers to translate real‑world review workflows into agent capabilities, including dashboards, analysis scripts, and insight extraction.
• Design, ship, and operate large‑scale agentic systems that reason over time‑series telemetry and hardware context.
• Build the tooling around AI models: sandboxed execution environments, context and memory management, custom compaction algorithms, and safety guardrails.
• Develop distributed, job‑based execution platforms on Kubernetes that schedule, scale, and tear down agent workloads both in the cloud and on‑premises.
• Maintain Sift’s MCP server and design APIs that enable agents and external AI tools to query telemetry directly.
• Create evaluation suites to measure agent effectiveness, latency, cost, and failure modes in production.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Passion for product ownership: engaging with customers, defining features, and delivering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Experience building reliable, high‑throughput backend services.

Required skills

• Design and implementation of REST and gRPC APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes for scaling and orchestration.
• Expertise in distributed systems and large‑scale time‑series data processing.
• Proficiency with sandboxed execution environments and context management.
• Ability to integrate and evaluate frontier AI models across providers.
