Backend Modernization Engineer III (Java & .NET)

About the role

We are looking for a versatile Backend Modernization Engineer to modernize legacy systems and build scalable backend solutions. The role blends Java Spring Boot and .NET expertise while contributing to architectural decisions and driving impactful solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable backend systems using Java Spring Boot and re‑platform .NET applications.
• Develop APIs and microservices, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, shaping project direction and technical approach.
• Build containerized microservices, create CI/CD pipelines, and develop cloud‑native applications on OpenShift and AWS.
• Write comprehensive unit tests, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with DevOps to optimize performance and ensure compliance.

Required profile

Required skills

• Java Spring Boot (Java 17+) and Spring ecosystem (Security, Data, Cloud).
• .NET Core/.NET 6+ with ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework.
• RESTful API design and implementation.
• AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS) and cloud‑native development.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes or ECS.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• CI/CD pipeline creation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Version control with Git and Agile methodology participation.
• Unit and integration testing (JUnit, NUnit/xUnit).
