Azure DevOps Engineer

About the role

Deloitte Technology is looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer to ensure user-visible uptime and quality of its systems, with operational and development expertise that makes them fail rarely and be fixed quickly. The position is open in eight locations: Cincinnati, Hermitage, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Nashville, San Antonio, St. Louis and Tampa.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure user-visible uptime and quality, and provide operational and development expertise so systems fail rarely and are fixed quickly.
• Minimise manual involvement by designing and implementing continuous improvements, including new tools, dynamic monitoring, alerting and automated self-healing and recovery.
• Analyse problems affecting mission-critical services and implement automation to prevent recurrence, aiming to automate responses to all non-exceptional service conditions.
• Engage in application performance analysis, system tuning and capacity planning.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify and implement continuous improvements.
• Present analyses and recommendations to leadership and discuss technical merits of solutions with engineers and architects.

Required profile

• Experience with technical deep dives into Azure infrastructure, databases and applications, supporting high-performance, highly available services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure computing technologies across Windows, including container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience building, deploying and monitoring Azure services, including Redis Cache, Service Bus, Event Hub and Cloud Service.
• Experience managing Windows systems in Azure Public Cloud.
• Ability to write PowerShell scripts to automate IT operations.

Required skills

• Azure Core Platform (Compute, Storage, Networking) and Data Platform (SQL, Azure DB, Mongo Atlas).
• ARM templates and knowledge of networking and SDN in cloud environments.
• Identity and authentication (SSO/Federation, AD/Azure AD).
• Experience with Azure Storage, Backup and Express Route.
• Experience developing integration tests and gate criteria aligned with business requirements and project plans.
• Strong experience with instrumentation, monitoring, alerting and performance and availability response.
