AVP Underwriting Director – Management Liability

About the role

Zurich is seeking an Executive Underwriter or AVP Underwriting Director for Management Liability to join its Philadelphia team. This hybrid role involves underwriting new and renewal business for Financial Lines products such as Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Crime Insurance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules, rating manuals, and ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and distributors to support business retention and acquisition.
• Proactively identify renewal and new account opportunities and conduct detailed opportunity assessments.
• Mentor team members and act as a help point for agents, brokers, and customers.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5‑14 years of underwriting, market‑facing, claims, or underwriting support experience, depending on the level.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and relevant experience is acceptable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience working under time constraints to produce quotes for new and renewal business.
