Automotive Technician and General Service Front/Back Shop

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring for its General Service front and back shop in Dublin, Ohio. The position covers both automotive technician duties and guest-facing general service work, with a salary range of $18.00-$24.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics, complete the Courtesy Inspection on every customer vehicle and carry out repairs in line with safety standards.
• Test drive vehicles following company policy and local traffic laws, and maintain technical knowledge through Monro University training.
• Assist in inventory management and general store duties, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Serve as first point of contact for guests on the phone and in the store, scheduling appointments, explaining processes and timelines and presenting services.
• Organize the service business through estimates and invoices, and help with work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance and purchasing.
• Handle cash, credit, refunds and returns correctly, respond to guest complaints and keep the waiting area tidy.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive training including basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Current valid driver's license, a satisfactory motor vehicle report and the ability to test drive customers' vehicles.
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins Monro's tool purchase program.

Required skills

• ASE certification and a state inspection license (where applicable) preferred.
• Ability to follow OSHA and environmental standards and to build guest relationships.
