Automotive Service Technician – Full‑time

About the role

Mills Auto Group is expanding its new KIA team in Smithfield, North Carolina and is looking for a full‑time Automotive Service Technician. You will diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of vehicles while delivering high‑quality service to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues.
• Repair or replace damaged, worn, or faulty parts.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Use specialized automotive diagnostic equipment and tools to service vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
• Stay current with new automotive technologies through training and workshops.
• Communicate with customers to explain services, answer questions, and recommend future maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Service Technician preferred.
• ASE certification and/or manufacturer training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of ASE certification standards.
• Basic computer skills for service documentation.
