Automotive Service Technician – Full‑Time

About the role

The Service Technician position at Mills Auto Group in Columbia, SC offers a full‑time opportunity for a detail‑oriented automotive professional. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles, delivering high‑quality service while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance such as tire rotation, fluid checks, and oil changes.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic tools and visual inspection.
• Repair or replace worn components including spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors.
• Test repaired systems to confirm proper operation and document work performed.
• Communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers and collaborate with fellow technicians.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb unassisted and stand for extended periods.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of critical thinking and troubleshooting.
