Automation Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions that drive operational excellence across MC&O. The role blends software engineering, data analysis, and modern infrastructure practices to reduce manual effort, improve service reliability, and support cloud‑based environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions that eliminate manual effort and boost operational efficiency.
• Create scripts, queries, integrations, and lightweight applications using Python, SQL, and other automation platforms.
• Automate operational workflows, monitoring, reporting, and system integrations via APIs and internal tools.
• Analyze operational data to generate automated reports and actionable insights.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation practices for consistency and scalability.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, improving deployment speed, quality, and reliability.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, version control, and operational support.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify pain points and transform repetitive tasks into scalable solutions.
• Measure and report automation outcomes, focusing on efficiency gains and service reliability.

Required profile

• Strong background in automation engineering and operational problem‑solving.
• Experience working with operational data and building data‑driven reporting solutions.
• Proven ability to integrate systems and develop API‑based workflows.
• Comfortable collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Support teams.
• Track record of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and reliability.
