Auditor, Internal Audit

About the role

The Internal Auditor will provide assurance and consulting services for business processes at the Store Support Center, helping Tractor Supply Company achieve its objectives by evaluating and improving risk management, control, and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and evaluate information through inquiry, testing, analysis, and observation to assess risks and the effectiveness of internal controls, including SOX controls.
• Develop detailed narratives and walkthroughs of business processes across the organization.
• Identify risks and controls, and design audit procedures to meet audit objectives.
• Collaborate with process leaders to propose solutions, improve workflows, and strengthen controls.
• Prepare working papers documenting findings, analyses, and conclusions.
• Coordinate the drafting of audit reports and discuss results and recommendations with management.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of audit experience; retail experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; relevant education and experience combinations considered.
• Professional certifications such as CIA or CPA preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Knowledge of fraud indicators, financial reporting risks, and internal controls.
• Ability to travel to stores, distribution centers, and other business locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using database software.
