Auditor – GS-0511-12 (Full-Time)

About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a full‑time Auditor (GS‑0511‑12) to join the Inspector General Audit Division at U.S. Special Operations Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base. The incumbent will provide independent, objective audit services that support mission‑critical financial and operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on audits of financial accounts, special access programs, and management operations.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify issues, trends, and actionable recommendations.
• Apply government auditing standards (GAGAS) and performance‑audit techniques.
• Develop audit work plans, sampling strategies, and testing procedures.
• Communicate findings clearly to senior leadership and negotiate resolutions.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of DoD/military financial management systems, regulations, and internal controls.
• Professional knowledge of accounting, management, and auditing principles.
