Auditor – Financial & Compliance Investigations

About the role

The Auditor will support ICE HSI by conducting external audits related to financial investigations, worksite enforcement, and employment eligibility verification. This full‑time position is based in Arlington, Virginia, and contributes to the integrity of government operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and advise on external audit assignments tied to financial investigations and worksite enforcement.
• Conduct administrative and criminal audits of Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I‑9) processes.
• Maintain and manage evidence used to assess administrative fines and prepare related paperwork.
• Draft audit reports and coordinate with ICE HSI and other audit entities.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and successful completion of background and drug screenings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Finance, or Public Administration with at least 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours may be business law).
• Minimum of four years of accounting or auditing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to meet the GS‑0511 occupational requirement for the job series.
