Audit Associate

About the role

Armstrong, Backus & Co. is hiring an Audit Associate in San Angelo, TX. You will work with a wide range of clients, handling the technical preparation of financial statements, tax returns and general ledger entries, and analysing information and options. You take ownership of your assigned projects, from planning and performance to conclusion, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, tax returns and general ledger entries
• Analyse information and options
• Take ownership of the entire client process, including planning, performing and concluding your assigned project
• Interact with clients and build positive relationships

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field, minimum 3.0 GPA
• Pursuit of CPA certification
• Confident, self-directed and goal-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and client-service focused
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite
• Preferred: DAS, IDEA, QuickBooks and 0-3 years of public accounting experience
