Athletics Development Officer

About the role

The Athletics Development Officer will lead fundraising efforts for Texas A&M University‑Texarkana’s athletic programs. Reporting to the Office of Advancement, this role cultivates donor relationships, supports event planning, and promotes the university’s athletic brand.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, donors, friends, and community partners for athletics fundraising.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on annual, major, and planned gifts.
• Collaborate with athletic department leadership, coaches, and advancement staff to design fundraising strategies.
• Plan and execute athletic fundraising events, donor hospitality functions, and engagement activities.
• Promote giving opportunities for scholarships, facilities, programs, and special initiatives.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, donor reports, and stewardship communications.
• Track interactions and commitments using the university’s CRM system.
• Represent the university at campus, community, and athletic events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of fundraising or development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
