Associate/Professor of Educational Leadership

About the role

West Texas A&M University seeks tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professors to join its fully online Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program. The position begins on either January 1 or September 1, 2027, and includes teaching, mentoring, research, and service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach doctoral‑level courses in a fully online environment.
• Mentor and advise doctoral students, supervising empirical research and reviewing progress.
• Maintain an active research agenda with scholarly productivity.
• Contribute to program development, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in shared governance, program administration, and service aligned with the mission of the department and college.
• Provide weekly in‑person office hours on campus in Canyon and/or Amarillo.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership or a closely related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in K‑12 or higher‑education leadership, or related leadership contexts.
• Evidence of an active research agenda and scholarly productivity appropriate to rank.
• Strong commitment to doctoral education and ability to mentor doctoral students in empirical research.
• Demonstrated instructional effectiveness in fully online learning environments.

Required skills

• Experience teaching doctoral‑level content online.
• Ability to supervise empirical research and guide scholarly delivery.
