Associate/Full Professor & Division Chair – Health Professions

About the role

Texas A&M University‑Texarkana is seeking an Associate or Full Professor to serve as Division Chair of Health Professions. The role combines academic leadership with teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities to advance the East Texas Rural Healthcare initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall academic leadership for the Division, reporting to the Dean of the College.
• Manage the division’s budget, develop program offerings, and schedule courses.
• Hire, supervise, evaluate, and mentor tenure‑track, non‑tenure‑track, and adjunct faculty.
• Serve on college and university committees, coordinate departmental activities, and address student concerns.
• Maintain a 6‑hour teaching load each Fall and Spring semester, with optional summer teaching for additional compensation.
• Engage in research and scholarship appropriate to the division’s scope.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to relocate to or work on‑site in Texarkana, Texas.
• Demonstrated integrity, openness, and objectivity.
• Strong planning, communication, problem‑solving, negotiation, and goal‑setting abilities.
• Experience in academic administration and faculty leadership.
