Associate/Assistant Professor – Psychology (Counseling)

About the role

Texas A&M University‑Victoria is seeking two full‑time, tenure‑track faculty members in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, starting August 2027. The position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising student practicum experiences, and contributing to departmental research and service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to twelve credit hours per semester, including in‑person introductory and elective undergraduate courses and graduate courses delivered both in‑person and in blended online formats.
• Supervise student practical experiences, advise and mentor students, and serve on university committees as needed.
• Direct student learning opportunities such as undergraduate and graduate research projects and applied experiences.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish scholarly work, and foster connections with community organizations.
• Support student recruitment, retention, and career advising efforts.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited clinical or counseling program (candidates with a confirmed completion date are acceptable).
• Eligibility for licensure in Texas.
• Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and ability to contribute to a diverse department offering multiple majors.
• Evidence of an active research agenda with publications in the field of Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
