Associate Therapist

About the role

The Well, a Christian counseling center and ministry of Generations Church, provides compassionate, faith-based clinical mental health services to individuals, couples and families. It is seeking an Associate Therapist who is passionate about ministry, mental health and the integration of psychology and faith.

Required profile

• Graduated from a CACREP-accredited program in social work, marriage and family therapy or mental health counseling.
• Holds an associate number (APC, AMFT).
• Can verbalize a strong faith in God, has a calling to work in mental health, and demonstrates a clear understanding of key Biblical principles and a clear values system.
• Willing to take part in weekly counseling center meetings including Bible reading and prayer, and to share workshops and therapeutic resources with the church community as needed.
• Willing to join the counseling center family and honor the cultural diversity of the church community.

Required skills

• Competence in assessing, diagnosing and treating mental health conditions and relational concerns.
• Treatment planning and strong case conceptualization skills.
• Knowledge of crisis management and trauma-informed practice.
• Commitment to continuing learning and specializing in a particular area of counseling or therapeutic model.
• Understanding of confidentiality, documentation and record-keeping requirements, and best practices for treatment modalities.
• Completion of Gottman Level One or Relational Life Level One training for couples counseling, and DBT or CBT certification training for individual counseling.
